I started in dentistry when I was 15, volunteering in a dental office after school. After high school, I became a Registered Dental Assistant and worked in an orthodontic office for 2 years. I graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at Sacramento City College in 1989. I can't believe that was thirty years ago!
I began working occasionally in this office about 26 years ago, during other hygienist's maternity leaves and vacations. Throughout my career I have worked in general dentistry, as well as working several years in a periodontal speciality group. I returned to Peters Family Dentistry in 2003 and have really enjoyed the family atmosphere of our office. It is fun having patients that we have known for so long, who are now bringing in there children and grandchildren!
Outside the office, I am busy with my two adult "kids". My daughter is 21 and in her third year of college, while my son has just turned 18 and will be starting college in the fall. My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversay in 2018, and are relearning how to spend time with just each other now that the kids are all grown up!
